The company
Located in Waterloo, Ontario, the Laurier School of Business and Economics
is one of Canada's leading business schools. With more than 3,000 students enrolled in part-time,
full-time, diploma, undergraduate and graduate programs, it is also one of the largest.
The School has more than 85 full time and 65 part time faculty.
The challenge
When Emerge2 was approached, WLUs School
of Business had an existing web site that they wanted re-designed and
re-focused. Their primary goal was to publish a resource that would
establish the school as a desirable educational destination for students.
In addition, the site had to serve as a tool for content administrators
and faculty for easily publishing information and keeping the site updated.
The solution
Catering to a variety of audiences, the WLU
site that we designed is very professional, while at the same time
clean and uncluttered. An intuitive navigational system places general
navigational elements in a consistent right-hand bar, while placing
contextual links at the top of every page, making it very easy for users
to rapidly sift through the 100-plus pages to find the information they
want. Some of the areas, such as the Faculty Finder, feature integration
with back-end databases.
WLU administrators keep the web site updated through
a variety of tools that we developed, resulting in content that is always
fresh.
