The company
Custom
Leather is the largest and one of the oldest men's belt manufacturers in Canada. They began producing consumer leather products in 1949 and currently produce belts for companies such as Christian Dior®, London Fog®, Van Heusen®, and Levi's®. They employ approximately 100 people in a 70,000 sq. foot facility in Waterloo, Ontario.
The challenge
Custom Leather needed a vehicle to support
their large retail distribution channel, and to support their off-line
advertising and marketing initiatives in both Canada and the United
States. In addition, key elements of the web site would require regular
updating and maintenance.
The solution
The
resulting site supports the Custom Leather brand and provides their
retailers (distributors) with an additional promotional and marketing
mechanism to leverage in the crowded apparel market.
The interface is clean, product-oriented and very
simple to navigate. Use of a pop-up product slideshow allows users to
quickly peruse their catalog of products, and the "Where to Buy"
locator service makes it simple for end-consumers to find a retailer
local to them based on their postal or zip code. Custom Leather maintains
the companies contained in the locator database through a private, web-based
administration tool.
